What is ISO 9000?
ISO is derived from the Greek word "ISOS" meaning EQUAL. The International Standards Organization (ISO) is an organization based in Geneva, Switzerland which is made up of 157 member countries throughout the world. The (ISO) began in 1946 when delegates from 25 countries met in London, England to create a new international standards organization which would facilitate international coordination and unification of industrial standards. The reference to "9000" simply implies a generic number referencing the multitude of standards available.
